Kamal has credit of at least 650 Sindhi Gazals though many of his Gazals didn’t find place in any of his 11 published Gazal collections.Published on 14th February, 2021, in Mid-day. In 1990 Maharashtra Government also felicitated his with Gaurav Puraskar for his contribution to Sindhi language and literature as Sindhi poet and Sindhi dramatist. In 1989 he become Awardee of Sahitya Akademi Award for Sindhi language for his Gazal Collection “Bahi Ja Waris”. M Kamal breathed last on 03 February 2010. Sindhi Drama Machis Kithe Aa proved one of best and very popular Sindhi Drama presented by him after establishing Mahran Kala Manch. He also has credit of editing book titled “Behtareen Sindhi Natak”. In 1984 he started a school of Drama named “Mahran Kala Manch” at Ulhasnagar. In the 1983 he retired from the job of Indian Railway and started devoting more time for literary activities by this time two of his Sindhi Drama were become popular. as his Gazals were centered at the day-to-day life so in short time M Kamal become famous as Sindhi Gazal writer and poet.
His first poem was published in 1953 but it took 12 long years for his first poetry collection Nind and Jag which was published in 1965. Lekhraj Aziz has thought him skills of writing and lessons about Sindhi poetry. He was fortunate that his natural [poem writing talent got well learned personality of Sindhi Literature Lekhraj Aziz for getting guidance and tips about Sindhi poetry writing. Mulchand was with natural talent of writing poems in Sindhi language but many of his friends were doubt about its correctness according to standards of Sindhi literature.
He never thought of changing job and remain associated with Indian railway till his retirement. After some uncertainty family find it suitable to be settled at Ulhasnagar near Mumbai.įirst two years were the period of struggle for the family as he was moderately educated (Inter Science) so finding job was not easy anyhow in 1951 when Mulchand got job with Indian Railway and was asked to join the commercial branch. At the time of partition in 1947 like very few other Sindhi families Bindrani family also decided to stay in Sindh but within short period of just two years of time has acted against own decision and migrate to India in 1949. Mulchand Mangharam Bindrani – pen name M Kamal – was Born on 8 August 1925 in Nawab Shah District Sindh.
